HONOLULU (KHNL) - Jurors deciding the fate of a Hawaiian sovereignty group leader, accused of breaking into Iolani Palace, went home Thursday without a verdict. The jury will resume deliberations Friday morning.

James Akahi is charged with second-degree burglary, a felony. If convicted, he faces up to five years in prison.

State prosecutors say Akahi broke into the Palace last August so he could chain himself to the throne. But the defendant says he has nothing but respect for the historic landmark and has documents showing he's the rightful heir.
