KAENA POINT (KHNL) - A fishing boat had quite a different kind of catch, as it pulled in a pair of kayakers who ran into trouble off Kaena Point Saturday afternoon. After the men headed out into the ocean, the current became too strong and they were unable to paddle back to shore.
The kayakers used a maritime radio to communicate their location. A nearby fishing boat responded to the distress call and was able to pick up the men and return them to shore a short time later. Neither of the men were hurt.
