KAPOLEI (KHNL) - A beloved motorcycle enthusiast is killed at the hands of a drunk driver.

The driver who crashed into him is under arrest.

Investigators say the woman was drinking and speeding.

At the crash site in Kapolei Saturday, the motorcycle club, Hawaiian Iron, gathered to remember fellow member, Dean Gomes of Ewa Beach.

They say he was the one who died in a car crash early Saturday morning around 1:30, near the intersection of Kapolei Parkway and Fort Barrette Road.

One of Gomes' friends says he witnessed the collision.

"When he pulled out and that disrespectful person, that person, that girl that ran a red light from there to here, do you know how long it takes to go - she hit him so fast, her car flew from there to there", said Casey Kunishige.

Loved ones put up a memorial in honor of Gomes.

Police say the 52-year-old was trying to make a left turn, when a car traveling in the opposite direction, ran a red and crashed into him.

Police arrested 27-year-old Kristin Maile Mancao for negligent homicide.
