SCOTLAND (KHNL) - With no Tiger Woods to cheer on, the fans at Turnberry need somebody to cheer for. Well, Tom Watson is certainly giving them something to cheer about, after finishing with a one-over par, 71 and a one stroke lead over Ross Fisher and Mathew Goggin in the third round of the British Open. The five-time champion is trying to become the oldest golfer ever to win a major and also, the oldest to ever win a PGA Tour event. The 59-year old is turning back the clock and playing like a 30-year old. The last time Watson won the Claret Jug was back in 1983, some 26 years ago. Lee Westwood and Retief Goosen are both tied for 4th at 2-under par.
