Efforts underway to save marsh

(KHNL) - The Kawainui/Hamakua Wetlands are the largest wetlands in the Hawaiian Islands, and has been designated since 2005 as Ramsar wetlands of international importance.

There are some hands-on projects to restore the marsh.

And that's why Dr. Chuck Burrows is with us this morning, along with John Keong of Kupu and Katrina Thompson of Hawaii Youth Conservation Corps.

Contact Kupu/Hawaii Youth Conservation Corps by calling 735-1221 or going to their website.
