HONOLULU (KHNL) - It appears many Oahu drivers are complying with the new law prohibiting the use of hand-held cell phones while driving.

In the first four days of the island-wide ban, police say they issued 50 citations and 12 warnings.

Under the law, a person could be ticketed for simply holding a mobile electronic device while behind the wheel. Many drivers have switched to hands-free devices.

If you break the law, the fine is $67 for the first offense.
