HONOLULU (KHNL) - A former Honolulu police officer faces up to five years in prison for firing three weapons, including a rifle, into the air during a New Year's celebration a year ago.

On Thursday, Roosevelt Blanco pleaded guilty to felony reckless endangering.

Prosecutors say he shot about 50 rounds from outside his Waipahu home. No one was hurt.

The Honolulu Police Department later fired Blanco.

Sentencing is set for October.
