WAIKIKI (KHNL) - A man who died after, police say, he tried to steal beer from a convenience store in Waikiki has been identified as Humberto Murillo, 33, of California.

Investigators say the manager of an ABC store confronted Murillo after he left with two packs of beer without paying for them. Murillo allegedly assaulted the store manager, and then got into a struggle with a 20-year-old male tourist who intervened.

During the commotion, the robbery suspect became unconscious.

The Honolulu Medical Examiner's office is conducting further tests to determine why Murillo died.
