WAIKIKI (KHNL) - It's come and gone, but the effects of the All Poly Football Camp will be felt for many months ahead. The nationally renowned camp did more than just teach the game, it also opened up doors for our local athletes.

Camp wrapped up on Wednesday, but thanks to recruiting websites such as Rivals.com, ESPN.com and Scout.com that came to the Islands, coaches on the mainland can now see video, pictures, stories and statistics of our Island players without stepping on a plane.

"This is big for us to get out here to be able to get them some exposure, college coaches don't have the budget to fly out to Hawaii to gather information on these guys so that's where get some of that info out and hopefully build their recruitment from there," said Barton Simmons of Rivals.com.

"In terms of the talent that's out here, top notch. Top notch. Every year there are kids out here that deserve to go to the next level, these kids deserve what the kids on the mainland deserve and rightly so," said Talo Steves of Scout.com.
