Quick relief from vog effects

HONOLULU (KHNL) - So what can people do to to quickly lessen the impact of vog on their health?

The answer, doctors tell us, is actually quite simple.

"We do know that going indoors really does help and moisture helps, said Dr. Elizabeth Tam, Chair of Medicine at the John A. Burns School of Medicine. "Maybe go and take a shower, clear that off and the moisture kind of absorbs the sulfur dioxide away from you."

That's because the sulfur dioxide molecule loves moisture and can be absorbed away from your body.

Doctor Tam says even a moist towel on your face may help if you're feeling congested from the vog.
