Kaufman wins bronze at NCAA Nationals

FAYETTEVILLE, AK (KHNL) - For the first time since 1984, the Rainbow Wahine track and field team is bringing home some hardware from the NCAA National Championship.

On Friday, high jumper Amber Kaufman wins the bronze medal after clearing six feet one and a quarter inch.

she's the first hawaii medalist since gwen loud won the long jump in 1984.Teammate emily sheppard finished 10th, clearing 5'10.75"

As for heptathlete Annett Wichmann, she finishes 7th in the final meet of her collegiate career scoring a personal best 5,675 points.

Wichmann also won the javelin, her favorite event, throwing it 152' 11".

This was Wichmann's 7th appearance in the NCAA championships, and is her fourth time earning All American.
