PARIS, FRANCE (KHNL) - Well, it only took Svetlana Kuznetsova 74 minutes to win the French Open and ruin number one ranked women's tennis player, Dinara Safina's dream of her first career Grand Slam Title.
Kuznetsova beats Safina in straight sets, 6-4 and 6-2 to capture her second Grand Slam Title, but her first since winning the 2004 U.S. Open.
Safina is now 0-for-3 in Grand Slam Finals. She lost the first three points and was broken in the first game. Kuznetsova quickly took control of the match and had Safina on the run the rest of the match.
On match point, Safina's second serve hit the net tape and popped up, sailing beyond the doubles alley.
Too many errors and too many double-faults proved to be too much for Safina to overcome.
