HONOLULU (KHNL) - A day after the Honolulu Police Commission voted to oust Chief Boisse Correa, the names of possible replacements are already being tossed around.

But the police commission, which is responsible for appointing the city's top cop, says it still needs to set the parameters for its nationwide search. Chair Christine Camp says a selection committee will likely be formed in the next two weeks.

On Wednesday, commissioners decided against extending Correa's contract. His term will end August 27th.

Camp says if a new chief isn't chosen by then, an interim will be named.
