MANOA (KHNL) - As if things couldn't get worse for the Warrior volleyball team.

After failing to make the playoffs for a second straight year, freshman outside hitter Steven Hunt is doubtful for this week's matchup against Pacific.

According to head coach Mike Wilton, Hunt slipped on some stairs hurting his foot and can barely jump. Wilton doubts he'll be available this weekend.

As for their postseason hopes being dashed, the Warriors say they still have four matches left on the year, all of them at home, so they want to finish with a bang.

"Now we're playing for pride, we're playing to be the best we can in our final four home matches, try build up a little steam here late in the year send out our three senior on a great note," said Wilton.

"We still got games left so we gotta push through these games, get some wins and just enjoy the last matches we have here at the University of Hawaii," said senior outsider hitter Jim Clar.

"Essentially it's, we're 2nd to last, they're last, we don't want to be, this is for pride, and we don't want to be that last place team," said senior libero Michael China.

The two match series against Pacific University begins Friday at 7pm.

Both matches will air live on K5 The Home Team.
