MANOA (KHNL) - The Rainbow baseball team continues their winning ways, as they defeat Portland, 9-8 in 12 innings, in the championship game of the Rose City Invitational.

With the game tied at 8, UH's Christian Johnson won the game with a pinch-hit solo home run in the top of the 12th.  It's Johnson's second home run of the season, but undoubtedly the biggest, as the 'Bows improve to 13-7 on the season.

Jeff Van Doornum led UH going 2-for-4, with 2 rbi, 2 runs and 2 walks.  Kolten Wong finished 2-for-5 with one rbi and a stolen base.    The Rainbows will face Oregon State tomorrow afternoon, before returning home for a four-game series against Coastal Carolina, beginning on Thursday, March 26th thru Saturday, March 28th.
