HONOLULU (KHNL) - He's supposed to protect and serve the public. But on Monday, a Honolulu police officer stood before a judge charged with reckless endangerment.

Roosevelt Blanco pleaded not guilty.

He's accused of firing three weapons, including a rifle, into the air during a New Year's celebration a year ago. Sources say he was intoxicated when he shot more than 50 rounds from outside his Waipahu home.

No one was hurt.

The officer's trial is tentatively set for May.
