Toddlers Enjoy Baby Hui 6th Annual Easter Egg Hunt

NUUANU (KHNL) -- Dozens of eggs were up for grabs at the Baby Hui's Annual Easter Egg Hunt. Parents and children, ages three and under, spent the day at Nuuanu Valley Park for Easter themed painting, crafts, bubbles, and play time. It's all part of The Baby Hui's 6th annual Easter Egg Hunt.

"They are excited, this is their first easter egg hunt, so I'm sure they'll really enjoy it," parent Shemeeka Nabea said.

The Baby Hui Infants and Toddlers is a non-profit group for parents of young children.

Robyn Johansson is Baby Hui's Assistant Director.

"We're a parenting support group that network families with same age children in their neighborhood," she said. "It's great to get together with people that are in the same boat, that kind of have the same challenges of parenthood all of a sudden and have peers to talk to and support."

"It's very helpful it helps you to get out of the house, to breathe to communicate with other mothers and for the children to get out and play," Nabea said. "I'm very grateful to the Baby Hui because that's how I met most of my friends."

As the hunt begins, toddlers use differing methods in capturing eggs. Some employ the grab-n-go method, some use careful selection, and others need a little encouraging. Many just wanted to eat the eggs. After all that work, it's time for a nap.
