HONOLULU (KHNL) -- A pilot who remains missing after his plane went down in waters off Kauai Monday is being described by his boss as a first-class individual.
The manager of Alpine Hawaii also says 38-year-old Paul Akita is a skilled surfer who joined the company in 2004.
The aircraft went down during a mail run from Honolulu to Kauai. The US Coast Guard found debris from the plane, but suspended its search for Akita Tuesday.
