WAIPAHU (HawaiiNewsNow) - This week Lyle and Russ manage to find their way to Leeward side of Oahu. With Cheap eats, it's either their way or the Highway, which brings them both to Waipahu's Highway Inn.
While looking at the lunchtime crowd, one can tell just how unreal Highway Inn is.
"This place is the most unrealistic...if you like Hawaiian food, local food come to Highway Inn. They got it. They know what they are doing. Just like home cooked -- unreal like mama cooked the food," one customer said.
The food at Highway Inn is so good that they will be featured on the Food Network in April on, 'Diners Drive-Inns and Dives' with Guy Fieri.
When one thinks Highway Inn, you may think Hawaiian food. This restaurant has it covered from all angles. You can get lau lau on the go when you order a lau lau combo plate that also comes with poi, pipikaula and lomi salmon.
Highway Inn has been apart of Waipahu for 63-years.
Other combos featured at Highway Inn are beef stew combo, kalua pig combo, and a hamburger steak plate that's smothered with onions. Their combo plates start at just $8.95 and regular plates at $8.50.
Though don't forget, on April 5th from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Highway Inn will be slashing prices 40 percent of their entire menu.
Though, anytime is a good time to drop in at Highway Inn.
