Kauai mansion sold at auction

Posted: Updated:

KEALIA, Kauai (HawaiiNewsNow) - A mansion on a pristine bluff in east Kauai has been sold at auction to a couple from Aspen, Colorado. There were 16 bidders for the nearly 6,000 square-foot home built on old sugar cane land.

The sale is still in escrow, so the auction company isn't releasing too many details.

Hawaii News Now has learned the winning bid was about $3 million, down from the asking price of $10 million, before the housing bust.

A five-acre lot next door was also picked up by a man from southern California.
