Hawaii News Now Sunrise at 8 starts today on K5

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Hawaii News Now: Sunrise – Hawaii's newest and most watched morning news expands with the addition of Hawaii News Now: Sunrise at 8 on KFVE. The all new hour of Sunrise debuts Monday January 11 at 8:00 AM.

"Sometimes Sunrise just seems to end too soon," says News Director Chris Archer.

"This is a great opportunity to keep the local conversation going by offering Hawaii the only live news, weather, and traffic after 8:00 AM."

In addition to news headlines, local weather and state-wide traffic coverage, Hawaii News Now: Sunrise at 8 will introduce fresh content to viewers. In the works now is a new cooking segment with Sam Choy. Several of the Sunrise favorites will also continue into the new hour, such as Ask Howard, Living Lei Chic, and Cheap Eats.

KFVE General Manager John Fink says, "We are very excited to be able to have yet another exclusive newscast with Hawaii News Now Sunrise at 8. As we have stated over the past few months, our intent is to provide more local programming than ever before on KFVE, and this additional news hour will be a great addition to our weekday lineup."

To provide viewers with even more fresh morning programming, KFVE will move The Bonnie Hunt Show from 11:00 AM to 9:00 AM. This move creates a solid two-hour block of new and relevant content.

Hawaii News Now: Sunrise at 8 will stream live on HawaiiNewsNow.com.
