HALEIWA (HawaiiNewsNow) - Less-fortunate families on Oahu's North Shore were treated to turkey and all the fixings Thursday.
Personnel from the Naval Computer and Telecommunications Area Master Station Pacific and other volunteers prepared enough food to serve 400 hearty meals to hungry residents in Haleiwa and Waialua.
They also collected about 13,000 lbs. of non-perishable items to donate to the Hawaii Food Bank.
"It is so heart-warming to feel that we can do something that's really a small effort for us, but to help our neighbors. It feels fantastic," said Capt. Patricia Cole of NCTAMS PAC. "We're thrilled to have this opportunity to do this every year."
This was the 20th annual Operation Aloha Thanksgiving luncheon.
