HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - This week Russ and Lyle go to a corner joint that seems like it's been around for almost 30 years. They stop in Moiliili at a place called HK's.

At one time it was located where the Keeaumoku Wal-Mart now stands, but HK's now calls the corner of King and Coolidge streets home. Their long time fans flocked to Moiliili with them.

Full size plate lunches here at HK's start at around seven bucks. They've got baked chicken, baked macaroni and a fried snapper. Are you hungry?

Their most popular plate is barbecue chicken. They grill it up and lay on the special sauce.

At HK's you can get it large style or mini style, with baked macaroni.

"Oh, HK's is the bomb. Their food is the best!" said Eric Mead of Moiliili.

And the prices?

"Oh the prices are great. It's affordable. This is the best place in this area" said Mead.

"Chopped steak is good and the fried rice with chicken's good" said Dave Mukai of Manoa.

"Should I go for the chopped steak then?" asks Russ.

"I think you should."

"Done deal!"

Just check out the happy eaters and you know it must be good. King and Coolidge streets are where you'll find them.

"I'm going with the barbeque chicken and New York steak" said Lyle.

"And I'm going with the ever-popular chopped steak" said Russ.
