HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - A man, who was shot by police in Kakaako over the weekend, is scheduled to make his initial court appearance Friday.

Gerald Galon, 29, is charged with second-degree assault, first-degree assault on a police officer, unauthorized possession of confidential personal information, and two drug offenses.

He's accused of dragging a police sergeant as he drove away from officers on Cooke Street Sunday. The sergeant suffered minor injuries.

Another officer opened fire on the car, which was later found abandoned at North School Street and Lanakila Avenue. Galon showed up at Kapiolani Medical Center at Pali Momi with a gunshot wound to the hip.

Bail is set at $250,000.
