Jason Ivler in 2004MANILA, Philippines (HawaiiNewsNow) - Police in the Philippines filed murder charges Sunday against 28-year-old Jason Ivler, a former student at Hawaii Pacific University. Officials at the Quezon City Police District say Ivler killed the son of a government official during a road-rage shooting. Ivler has not been arrested and his whereabouts are unknown.
Witness identified Ivler as the driver involved in a traffic crash in Manila. The incident led to an argument in which police said Ivler shot another driver to death. The victim, Renato Ebarle Jr., is the son of an official at the Office of President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo.
Authorities distributed Ivler's photo to all ports and airports to stop him from escaping. This is the second homicide case pending against Ivler. Investigators were already looking for him in connection with a car crash in 2004 that killed a senior official in the president's office, according to police.
