HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - The resurgent running game of the UH football team has captured the headlines for the Warriors as of late, but one factor that's remained consistent this season is receiver Greg Salas who's numbers have him among the nations best.

This week was no different. The junior slot back re-set the UH record books against New Mexico State by hauling in 16-balls for 196-yards and a touchdown.

The 16-receptions broke the previous mark of 15 that Davone Bess set back in 2007.

Adding to that, Salas now leads the country in receiving yards with 1,360.

But he says he didn't even know how big a night he was having.

"I don't know, once you get that first catch you don't even think about it. You're like alright I got that first catch let's go. You get the pre game jitters out of you once you hit somebody and they just keep piling up for some reason I don't know. I'm just working hard trying to stay open for our quarterbacks and I guess it's paying for us at the end," reflected Salas.
