HONOLULU (HAWAIINEWSNOW) - Hawaiian Airlines dispatchers, who belong to the Transport Workers Union, have ratified a four-year contract that provides higher pay, expanded benefits, and profit sharing. The 31 dispatchers obtained these improvements by agreeing to operational efficiencies that benefit the company. "This agreement," Hawaiian CEO Mark Dunkerley said in a statement, "is entirely consistent with the one overwhelmingly ratified by our flight attendants earlier this year, and with the proposals we have offered all of our union groups." Flight attendants also won wage hikes by agreeing to operational efficiencies. "We are pleased," said John Conley, director of the airline division of the TWU. "It's refreshing to negotiate with a management team that shares our vision." Hawaiian remains in mediated contract talks with the Air Line Pilots Association and the International Association of Machinists. ALPA has sought an official declaration of impasse.
