LAS VEGAS (HawaiiNewsNow) - For the past 6 years on K-Five News at Nine, we've been bringing you the sights and sounds of Las Vegas in our weekly segment "Vegas Minute". On a recent trip there, I ran into someone who seems to always know what's happening in Las Vegas.

The host of "Vegas Minute" Danielle Dempski graciously offered to take me around and show me the popular spots. Dempski's been inviting viewers to the strip every week in the segment for the past 3 years.

"My favorite thing about this is that I get all the inside scoops on the performers, the shows, the night life and the shopping!" Dempski exclaimed.

We toured the Caesar's Palace Forum Shops and then headed to the hotel's Garden of the God's Pool where we got an exclusive look at the brand new expansion. The addition comes with the increase in visitors looking to cool off on the strip. Now, there are 45 new cabanas and a total of 8 new pools including one complete with two black jack tables that doesn't require players to change out of their swimsuit.

Dempski and I also stopped by the Collesseum where former Hawaii resident Bette Midler performs.

"Bette's show is a hit," explained Dempski," It's called 'The Showgirl Must Go On' and so far she's performed more than 100 shows to sold out crowds."

Our next stop is the Bellagio Fountains a scene used in many big screen films including the movie 'Ocean's 11'. Each show happens every half hour and is up to 5 minutes long.

At the Madame Tussaud's Wax Museum at the Venetian, one man has been drawing the biggest crowds and that's none other than President Barack Obama! Other wax figures include the late Princess Diana, Martin Luther King Junior and Cameron Dias.

After all that walking, we're finally ready to put our feet up and sit back and relax.

"Steph, I thought this would be the perfect way to end our day," said Dempski.

We sailed in a gondola down a manmade river at the Venetian and enjoyed the sights while being serenaded by the man at the helm.

It was an unforgettable tour of Las Vegas and the next time Dempski is in our neck of the woods, I'll be returning the favor.
