The story behind Bead It is as unique as the beautiful, fine-crafted beads that Bead It owners Brendan and Jill Barry have provided to their devoted customers since 1992.

During his days as restaurant manager in Honolulu, Brendan headed off with his wife Jill and their child to a business seminar in California in 1991. As Brendan endured the long, exhaustive training sessions, Jill found herself with nothing to do for long stretches of time.

Looking for something to do, Jill came across a bead store in the town of Laguna Beach. Excited by the new find, she spent hours designing and crafting bead creations.

Seeing his wife's new hobby, Brendan remembered when he used to design jewelry as a teenager. The tactile experience of working with beads once again proved to be irresistible. Jill and Brendan's passion for beads quickly became overwhelming clear.

After returning to Honolulu, the Barrys knew that they had to open a store dedicated to beads. In the following months, the couple researched the bead industry and made contacts in order to establish a solid foundation for their new venture.
