Moisture on the Rise, Temperatures Still Hot!
While it will not be record breaking in terms of high temperatures today it will be pretty hot as we get close to 110 for a high today.
There is an increasing flow of moisture coming from the south (typical during the Monsoon) and we will see and feel this increase in humidity here in the valley.
In connection to this increase in moisture we will get some isolated thunderstorms in and around the valley this weekend.
For today a blowing dust advisory is in place from 2 PM until 9 PM tonight.
The benefit of the humidity is that high temperatures won't be quite as high over the weekend...mainly in the 107-109 range for Phoenix.
Even though there is not a heat warning, remember to take frequent breaks from the heat if you or someone you know works or plays outside and don't forget to check on the elderly, small children, and pets during these hotter than normal days (average high this time of year in Phoenix is 106).
Stay cool and have a great weekend!
