Dry trade wind weather should remain with us for the Kuhio Day holiday Monday, with locally breezy winds of around 10 to 20 miles per hour with higher gusts. There could be a few showers for windward areas, but they should remain light and isolated. The winds will decrease and the chance for showers will increase for the latter half of the week.
Surf remains dangerously large, with a High Surf Advisory for north and west shores of Niihau, Kauai, Oahu and Molokai, the north shores of Maui and the west shores of the Big Island through 6 p.m. Monday. Another warning-level swell is expected Thursday night into the weekend. A Small Craft Advisory also remains posted for all Hawaiian waters.
