Honolulu Store Supports African Orphanage

HONOLULU (KHNL) -- It's shopping for a good cause! If you bring a bag of clean, used clothes to Red Pineapple at Ward Center from now until April 21 you will get 10% off your purchases. The store will send any childrens' clothes to an African orphanage, and sort and distribute the rest to local charities. Store owner Nalani Holliday says, "Although the goal for now is collecting clothes, the long term goal is to inspire others to make a difference in the community."

She continues, "In doing some research on some local non-profits, I found many agencies get clothes they don't actually need, and sorting the clothes takes precious time from their volunteers. We will be separating the clothes, so they go to the right agencies, where we can make the most valuable impact."
