It's the stain remover and grout cleaner with the explosive name. It's kaboom! But does it work?
You've seen the commercials on tee vee. This is the kaboom system. One bottle, the all purpose stain remover. The other, the porcelain, tile and grout restorer.
We begin our test with a new white bath towel. First, we stain it with iodine. One of the toughest stains to get out. Next comes black coffee. Over here, cranberry grape juice. And for good measure, a little pen ink. Then we'll let them all bake in the hot sun.
Our stains have been drying on our white towel for most of the afternoon. Now it's time to put kaboom to the test. The directions say all we have to do is saturate the stain with kaboom as we are. Oh, look at that.
That is iodine folks and that towel is as white as when we first started. Holy cow, what a great job it's doing. Wow, look at that.
Next we spray kaboom on the coffee stain. Kaboom seems to be adding a lot of cream to our coffee. And now, the cranberry grape juice.
Just wipes that juice right out. There's no doubt about it. Kaboom does the job on stains. To test the porcelain, tile and grout restorer we came here to Ala Moana Beach Park and one of the bathrooms. This area of stained tiles and grout is really discolored. And there are a lot of stains on the wall tiles as well. If kaboom works on these it should do a great job in your home.
Directions on the kaboom porcelain, tile and grout restorer say you just spray it on, let it soak in for one to three minutes and then rinse it with water. And we are giving all of this a really good dousing. After a few minutes we rinse with water. But is there any restoration going on here. I don't know, doesn't look like there's much improvement to me.
So, the bottom line on kaboom the stain remover is awesome. It works as promised. As for the porcelain, tile and grout restorer. It leaves a lot to be desired.
