Thousands Run the Honolulu Marathon

HONOLULU (AP) - Defending champion Jimmy Munindi of Kenya has won the Honolulu Marathon in record time.

 Munindi's time of two hours 11 minutes and 12 seconds takes more than 30 seconds off the previous record of two-11-43 set by Ibrahim Hussein in 1986.

Munindi is also now the first man to win the race four times.David Mutua of Kenya was second in two-12-56.

Three-time winner Mbarak Hussein, brother of the former record holder, was third in two-13-58.

Lyubov Morgunova of Russia won the women's race in two hours, 27 minutes and 32 second, taking a minute off her record pace of two-28-33 in 2000.

Defending champion Eri Hayakawa of Japan, who was running with a fever, was second in two-28-10.
