Police Believe Sex Offender May Be In Hawaii

(Honolulu) -- Honolulu police were searching for a convicted child sex offender from Washington state who is apparently hiding in Hawaii.

Authorities say Carl William Lindsey failed to report to prison officials in Cowlitz County, Washington.

A letter with a Honolulu postmark was sent by Lindsey and received in Washington Tuesday. Police say Lindsey is considered dangerous and is a known methamphetamine user.

He has convictions in Florida, Washington and Hawaii for various crimes.

He is a white male, 26 years old, five-foot-ten with a slim build. He has brown or reddish blonde hair. He wears glasses and has a small tear drop tattoo under his left eye.

If you see this man or have any information about his whereabouts, do not approach him.  Call Police immediately.
