McMackin announces Tomey's return to UH football

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – University of Hawaii head football coach Greg McMackin announced the hiring of Dick Tomey as special teams coach. Tomey previously served as head coach of Hawai‘i from 1977-8.
Tomey also was head coach at the University of Arizona from 1987-2000 and San Jose State from 2005-09. He compiled a 183-145-7 all-time record in 29 seasons as a Division I head coach, including a 63-46-3 mark in 10 seasons with Hawaii.
Tomey led the Rainbow Warriors to a pair of runner-up finishes in the Western Athletic Conference and four seven-win seasons.
