Governor announces Supreme Court pick

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) -  Governor Neil Abercrombie today announced Judge Sabrina McKenna as his nomination for Associate Justice to the Hawaii Supreme Court.

McKenna, 53, is the Senior Judge of the Family Court.  She's served in the First Circuit Court since 1995.

She graduated from the William S. Richardson School of Law in 1982.  She holds a degree in Japanese from UH-Manoa where she was a Rainbow Wahine basketball player.

A justice's nomination is subject to confirmation by the State Senate.
