HONOLULU, Oahu (HawaiiNewsNow) - The Ohina Short Film Showcase is this weekend. Produced by a dedicated group of volunteers, it allows local filmmakers to showcase and share their talents. After a four-year hiatus, the popular 'Ohina Short Film Showcase is back. 'Ohina means "the gathering" or "coming together" and this showcase provides a venue for Hawai'i's filmmakers to collectively present their talents. 'Ohina's board of directors appointed an independent judging panel to select the films. The showcase will travel to Kona for a special showing at the historic Aloha Theatre on Sept. 18. Malika has details. All proceeds benefit the Honolulu Academy of Arts.
