MANOA (KHNL)- A sixth swine flu case confirmed in Hawaii, this time a student living in a University of Hawaii at Manoa dorm. Officials are also looking into a possible seventh case, also at UH. With more than 20,000 students, faculty and staff on campus, this case is especially a cause for concern.

The student felt flu-like symptoms on Wednesday and went to the university's health center. Tests confirmed it was a form of swine flu Friday and now that student is in isolation.

Worries at UH-Manoa's Hale Wainani dorm.

"Kind of a panic scene because nobody knows what the swine flu is all about," said Student Curtis Valdez.

The student is believed to be a female upper classman. Their mild infection of swine flu sent a campus on alert. The student and their two roommates are each quarantined as the university holds informational meetings, delivers updates on the school's website and starts contacting anyone potentially exposed.

"People need good reliable information and they need to stay calm," said UH Chancellor Virginia Hinshaw.

The student hasn't traveled, officials say they contracted the virus somewhere in the community.

"We are aggressively looking at where this individual might have gone," saied State Health Director Dr. Chiyome Fukino.

With dorm and common areas cleansed by university maintenance, others take precautions but feel no fear.

"It's not really a big concern because they're talking about one girl, they said they already took care of it," said Student Andrew Saulo.

It was pure coincidence a student health club set up an informational table near the infected person's dorm.

"Right now they're dis-infecting everything and we're trying to help out with that too and to promote precautions," said Student John Patu.

As students continue final exams, forget multiple choice, the university says being extra cautious will score safety from more swine flu. The university says there are no plans for closure because this recent case is contained.

Officials are still awaiting tests results for that seventh potential case.
