Does It Work? Wii Fit

HONOLULU (KHNL) - Who wouldn't want to lose a little weight or get in better shape? Between diets, exercise programs and the latest fads, it can be tough deciding what really works.

In this 'does it work' assignment, Paul Drewes and Mari-Ela David show that getting fit is not all fun and games...or is it?

It's the latest addition to the Wii, the Wii Fit, which has numerous games, that are different kinds of fitness programs.

Drewes and David got a briefing on how the Wii works and decided to give it a go.

There are four different kinds of workouts you can do on the Wii. Drewes decided to try the cardio first. That meant he was shaking his hips hoping for a workout while hula hooping.

Next up, Drewes got bent out of shape as he tried to follow the yoga poses on the screen.

"This segment should be called 'Does It Hurt!'" he said.

David gets pumped up over another fitness challenge, trying her hand at the strength training.

She made it look so easy, Drewes decide to give it a try.

But in other Wii exercises, David got off to a shaky start.

But over the next ten weeks the duo should both get better, at least that is the game plan.

Following the Wii fitness plan, they'll be able to bank their workout hours, as they get stronger, more limber, and in better shape.

And to see if this really does work, they're also off to the doctor for a complete check up, with blood work and a body fat test to see if this workout will make a difference.
