    Cramming into an airplane seat for a 10-hour, 5,000 mile direct flight from Honolulu to the east coast isn't exactly fun when you're a six-foot four-inch, 235 linebacker. However, it's what's on the other side of that flight that's got junior, Jahlani Tavai and his teammates excited to go "wheels up" Tuesday afternoon.  "It's super awesome," said Tavai of the team's upcoming trip to the east coast.

    The University of Hawai'i released its 2017-18 men's basketball schedule, which features 20 home games at the Stan Sheriff Center. This year's non-conference schedule will include at least six teams that won 20 or more games and advanced to the postseason last season.   The early season will be a challenging one.     Years of overcoming adversity and hard work all paid off for Kamehameha alum and Oregon football walk-on, Kaulana Apelu on Sunday when the junior linebacker learned he'd be receiving a scholarship.  The message came before Oregon's practice on Sunday. A video of Apelua's mother played on the Autzen Stadium jumbo-tron, where she informed her son that was being put on scholarship by the program.
