Honolulu woman climbs Africa’s tallest peak in effort to fight human trafficking

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - A Honolulu woman has made it to one of the world's highest peaks, and it was all for a good cause.

Ashley Cobile scaled Mount Kilimanjaro, Africa's tallest peak, to raise awareness for human trafficking.

Cobile said she woke up at 6 a.m. every day and climbed eight hours a day.

In all, she raised $3,000 for UNICEF.

Mount Kilimanjaro is more than 19,000 feet, making it the tallest freestanding mountain in the world.
