Police: Man, woman were heard arguing prior to apparent murder-suicide

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Honolulu police are investigating an apparent murder-suicide in Waikiki on Thursday evening.

According to police, witnesses heard arguing outside The Tradewinds condominium on Ala Moana Boulevard shortly before 6:30 p.m.

Police said shortly after, the victim — a 65-year-old woman who has not yet been identified — fell from the eighth-floor walkway to the ground below.. They’re investigating whether she was pushed.

Initial police reports indicate a 50-year-old man, who is believed to be the suspect, then fell from the lanai area of an eighth-floor apartment to a landing on the second floor.

He has also not been identified.

It wasn’t immediately clear how the two knew each other.

Emergency Medical Services confirmed it did respond to the scene, but both the victim were pronounced dead on arrival.

A second-degree murder investigation is underway.
