HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - On Thursday, February 28 at 7 p.m. guests can join Chef Hugo Ortega from Houston and Honolulu-based Chef Lee Ann Wong for a limited six-course prix fixe menu. It blends traditional Mexican recipes with fresh Hawaiian ingredients and flavors. It will be featured at Mí Almita Cantina in The Street Food Hall by Michael Mina at the International Market Place. Chef Ortega wanted to share a little of his Mexican heritage and bring authentic Mexican cuisine to Hawaii. Chef Wong spent her twenties traveling through Mexico and has cooked in Oaxaca many times over the years. Through this collaboration, they wanted to bridge the two cuisines together and share them with Hawaii. They wanted to make this a unique dining experience, so along with the great food there will be a live mariachi duo, specialty-made cocktails as well as the opportunity to meet both chef Lee Anne and Chef Hugo.
