LAS VEGAS, NEVADA (HawaiiNewsNow) - A Hawaii cheer team took home the gold in Nevada over the weekend.
Athletes from Sacred Hearts Academy and St. Louis competed as one at the JAMZ Cheer and Dance competition held at the Orleans Arena in Las Vegas.
Representing that 808 pride, the athletes pulled off a physically demanding cheer routine that captivated the judges — and the first place title of Grand National Champion.
Back in the islands, the Sacred Hearts squad is at the height of their competitive prowess, currently holding the ILH and HHSAA State Cheerleading Championship titles.
Their performance on the national stage also secured them the Best Stunt Sequence Award, National Champions COED Sideline Performance Award, and other overall titles.
