Monarchs win Div II title

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - The Damien Monarchs defeated the Farrington Governors 73-50 to win the program’s first ever state basketball title in school history.

The Monarchs dominated the game from beginning to end, behind 19 points from Monarchs guard Jydon Hall. Damien had four players score in double figures and jumped all over the Governors from the opening tip.

The Governors were led by Raefe McEnroe who posted a double, double with 16 points and 11 rebounds while Aeman Castro added 14 points in the defeat.

Damien finishes the season unblemished in conference (12-0), and 28-2 for the 2019 season.
