HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Wahoo’s Fish Taco - the fast-casual restaurant with worldly and uncommonly delicious food - is pleased to announce the grand re-opening of its flagship restaurant in Honolulu, Hawaii on February 21, 2019. Showcasing its signature surf-and-skater inspired décor, including a new 10-foot bar, attendees can indulge in an evening of exceptional food and drink, live music and free gifts. Wahoo’s world-famous co-founder Wing Lam will join the new local owners to celebrate this special occasion and toast Wahoo’s 10 triumphant years on the island of O’ahu.
“I am very excited to be part of such a festive event,” says Lam, who is renowned for his Asian-Brazilian-Mexican-fusion menus. “Each of our locations has succeeded in reflecting the authentic character of the local culture while providing a family-friendly hangout where everyone is welcome. That brings us great joy.”
Inspired by his successful patriarch father, an immigrant who opened the first Chinese restaurant in Newport Beach, Lam—along with his brothers Ed Lee and Renato “Mingo” Lee—started Wahoo’s with a single taco stand for surfers. Three decades later, it has grown into a national brand with over 60 locations across the U.S. and Japan. Wahoo’s was recently invited by the James Beard Foundation to host a historic dinner commemorating its 30th anniversary.
Wahoo’s Fish Taco grand re-opening will take place from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at 940 Auahi Street, #140. For more information, visit www.wahoos.com.
