HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - City contractors began work Saturday to remove large trees that fell in last weekend’s wild weather.
The work is taking place at Kapiolani park. Workers are chopping away at century-old kiawe trees that toppled over in last week’s strong winds.
The tallest of the three trees to fall was reportedly about 60 feet high.
A city spokesperson says the removal work is expected to be completed within a weeks time.
