MAUNA KEA, BIG ISLAND (HawaiiNewsNow) - Big Island police are investigating a body found off the Daniel K. Inouye Highway on Thursday morning.
Officers responded around 6:35 a.m. to reports of an unresponsive male lying next to a Ford hatchback parked near Mauna Kea Access Road.
An autopsy is scheduled for Tuesday to determine the exact cause of death.
Foul play is not suspected, but police are investigating, officials said.
The person's identity has not been released.
