HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - The Rainbow Wahine basketball team’s three-game winning streak came to an end Saturday afternoon, losing to Long Beach State on the road by a score of 56-40.

Hawaii (9-13, 5-4) was led by freshman forward Myrrah Joseph who scored 15 points while pulling down nine rebounds. She also tallied three assists during her career night.

Despite Joseph’s breakout performance, the rest of the Wahine offense shot just 25 percent from the field.

Long Beach State got out to a fast start on an 8-1 run to open the first quarter and the ‘Bows would never recover. Hawaii did the battle on the boards with 36 rebounds, but couldn’t convert on offense to stay in the game.

The Wahine will return to Honolulu for three-straight games at the Stan Sheriff Center, beginning with UC Santa Barbara on Wednesday, February 13th. Tip-off is set for at 7:00 p.m. HT.
